FEBRUARY 5, 2015: INSPIRING ENERGY INITIATIVES: THE PUBLIC AND NONPROFIT SECTORS
Many initiatives and projects are underway throughout New York State’s Southern Tier to reduce energy cost, improve efficiency and enhance sustainability. Following December’s meeting with NYSERDA and January’s meeting featuring the Govenor’s Office on Energy and the New York Power Authority, SUNY BEST has invited a unique selection of speakers to describe their energy projects in this month’s presentation. This will be the third installment of the SUNY BEST Spring Speaker Series on Energy.

SUNY BEST welcomes panelists Guy Hallgren, who will discuss converting waste into energy and deploying a smart grid for a village in the Southern Tier; Sandy DeJohn who will introduce Binghamton University’s lighting upgrade projects; and Mark Howe, Erin Moore and Sarah Zemanick will address Cornell University’s initiatives in energy reduction, renewable energy supplies, and culture change. Bernie McDermott from the Chenango Forks School District will discuss solar power in the K-12 environment.
