  • T. Kowalik welcomed members, participants and the CEANY Organization and provided a brief overview of SUNY BEST. He reminded everyone that this session was being recorded and a link to the recording would be placed on the SUNY BEST website.
  • Attendees introduced themselves.
  • Brian Hutzley, vice chancellor for financial services and chief financial officer for SUNY, is responsible for SUNY’s $10 billion annual all-funds budget, as well as strategic infrastructure management and operations of the University. He is also co-chair of SUNY’s Entrepreneurial Century, comprised of SUNY leaders who are committed to the cultivation of entrepreneurial thinking. The Chief Financial Officer of the SUNY system spoke at SUNY BEST Thursday about spreading the word about SUNY’s impact on business. His presentation addressed topics of small business and entrepreneurship, workforce development, strategic enrollment and high needs programs and funding, research and innovation, commercialization and development and the entrepreneurial campus.
